A Standard Privacy Policy is No Longer Good Enough.

Especially when it comes to pregnancy.

We all know the raw facts of our highly digitized life. Without a second thought we compromise a portion of our privacy in return for magical conveniences (“Alexa, how do I update my Facebook privacy settings?”). We’re comfortable with this. Years of convenience and entertainment have dampened our suspicions. We trust that, with every shared intimacy, these tech companies will keep those secrets confidential.

And yet that trust has been broken more than once in recent months (we won’t name names, but you likely know which companies we’re talking about). Bloomlife will not be one of those companies. We don’t just care about your privacy in a hand-waving way. We obsess over protecting your privacy. At Bloomlife, privacy is not an afterthought.

While we treat customers’ privacy with the utmost importance and respect, we recognize that we can do a better job at transparency, especially when it comes to our commitment to safeguarding privacy. Currently, we have the standard link to our privacy policy. But standard is no longer good enough.

We are currently crafting new ways for customers to engage with Bloomlife on privacy topics. In the coming months, we will be rolling out several improvements:

  • An updated version of our privacy policy in a more human-readable form (aka, less legalese)
  • More prominent links to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service on our website and in the Bloomlife app
  • Clearer instructions on how to edit privacy settings, how to request a copy of personal data, and how to request for data to be deleted.

We will also be adding a feature that allows customers to opt-in to sharing de-identified versions of their data for research efforts to improve maternal health care and benefit all moms.

Our first priority at Bloomlife is to ensure that you, our customer, feel valued and that you have confidence in our ability to protect your privacy. Please stay tuned as we continue to demonstrate this commitment.
